I got the letter back!

I got the letter back that I sent my Gramma! It didn't take long at all! I will therefor, be going back through the posts that I have already posted to update and correct things that I had incorrectly entered. You won't notice, unless you noticed already!

I also, now have a list of her siblings and their spouses. I will be entering that in my PowerPoint and then posting those siblings. That wont be for a few days, because I am crazy busy at work!

That is all for now!

Found It!

A-HA!

I found it! It got changed somehow to some wierd file, I chanced it and renamed the type of file, and there it was! I changed the name to Family Tree Power Point. I am going to mail to myself right now. That won't help me if I ever need to mail it back. Maybe I will make a shortcut in a different folder...

Misty

AAAAAHHHHHHHHH

The file is to big to mail from Quickoffice Pro HD... Ill keep trying!

Misty

OH MAN!!!!

So, I tried to add my mother's brother-in-laws obituary, and the whole power point got lost! I am not sure what the last version that I sent to my iPad is from. UGH!

I will send it to myself and I will see what all needs to be added. I will then add it and send it to myself after EACH SAVE! OH MAN! That irritates me!

Anyhow, there probably won't be many posts while I fix this mess... :/

WORST DAUGHTER EVER

TODAY, October 22nd, 2011, would have been my Dad's 57th birthday, not tomorrow, as I have thought for years... I will fix it on here...

This morning I updated Ancestry.com. Starting Monday I will start adding my Dad's uncles and aunts...

Tonight, we will get a cake and toast to my Dad, and how much we all miss him.

Friday October 21st, 2011

This is not going to become a habit, I promise, but, I have no post for today. I came in late today, because I could. Heather and I went to get our grocery shopping done early, when there are not so many people around! Then a nice breakfast, and to work, where I have been slammed all day.

I do have a plan for this weekend, as far as my power point goes. I am going to look at who I have as far as the siblings go, and then I will mark on the cards who needs to be added to it. Then I will do that on Monday, and the rest of next week, and I will post my Grandad Milton Bishop's siblings starting next week.

If one of my kids leaves the nest soon, I am taking a wall on that room to post my cards... I REALLY need a wall.

Oh, someone on Fabebook added me to their tree. Odd, I have NO IDEA who they are. I guess I better look into it!

That is all, have a good weekend.

I have Family Tree A.D.D.

I have found a new app on Facebook that is a family tree. I thought that it was just your family ON facebook, but alas, you can enter those that are not on Facebook as well. I have entered up to my Dad, and then when I try to enter all of the "complications" that go with him... it splits, and I cannot see all of the people on the same page...

I REALLY want to make the wall that will be my family tree, and I will include the strange branches that come from many marriages... LOL

No new info today, crazy busy at work today!

Wednesday October 19th, 2011

Nothing new for the blog today. I updated some more cards, with my grandparents siblings. I need to get that info into my power point and then maybe I can post the power point? Not sure about that one yet. I have been just copy and pasting from the power point.

I want to print it all out when I am done, but that will be A LOT of pages, and A LOT of colored ink, because I want it to be pretty! Then I will put each page in page protectors, and there you go...

So, maybe I will have more information soon to post, but I am still debating how to do it now that we are into the great aunts and great uncles, and after we are to the GREAT GREAT Aunts & Uncles, are they aunts and uncles once removed, or is that just cousins? HMMMM...

I have back to my GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT Grandparents on my Grandad Milton's side...But that is just in the find a grave website print outs. I need to put those into the power point.

That is all, time to shut down the office!

Monday october 17th, 2011

Don't know where to go next. I sent off the letter to my Gramma on Saturday, and now I wait for a response.

I have a big binder full of stuff, and I can't figure out how it all goes together! Just opening it overwhelms me! I think that I will take the rest of my lunch break to suck it up and open it and see what I can make of it. Maybe I will at least get it in some sort of order...

I really do need a wall at home where I can put up all of my cards in a real "tree" fashion, to see what it all in a bigger picture manner. There are NO walls like that in my house! When Marie moves out, I will move Cara into her room, and take Cara's room as our craft room, which WILL be open to the kids at all times (OK, unless I am working on something secret for one of them...) And I will use one of those walls to post the cards...I wish there was a program on my iPad for that! Or an app! There is the Ancestry.com app, but that is really not. I mean, I guess once I get the info entered, it would make it easier to look at.

That is what I will do today. I will go to Ancestry.com, on the big compute and enter what I have (that will be easier) and then I will sync it to the iPad, and that should make it easier! It is decided...

Letter To Gramma

So, this is the letter that I am going to send my Gramma next week when I get stamps...

If any family is reading this, and they have answers to these questions, please add them in the comments and I will add them! Thank you in advance!

Gramma,

Thank you so much for agreeing to answer these questions for me! I have so much info about Grandad's side, but not much on yours, and I want more! As much as I can on any and every body!

I would like to come for spring break again, and talk more, in person about it all, and of course visit and eat! I will let you know as soon as I have something planned.

Now, on to the questions!

Where was Robbie born?

What year did Robbie & Gary get married?

Where was Cherry born (I can ask her if you don't know)

Where was Gary born?

What year was Gary born?

What are his parents names?

Where did you and Grandad get married?

When and where did your parents get married?

Can you please list all of your bothers, and their wives? And kids, if you can!

That is really all that I can think of for now. If I have more questions, can I write to you again?

Love
Misty

Dora Agnes Metcalfe Remembered

Parents Emma Victoria Tracy & Clarence William Metcalf
Married Lester Floyd Bishop Nov 27 1908 McMaster Twp, OK

==How I remember my folks by Tracy Dee==

Mom's family came to OK around 1902 & settled in Lawton area. My folks were married in 1908. They farmed like most people did. There is a lot I don't know what happened in the early years, but I can remember when we left MO for OK. Gramma Bishop sent a lot of fried chicken to eat on the train.
Dad built a small house on Granddad Metcalf's place near Medicine Park. We moved in 1924 when Dad built a house near Ike Carter store. We lived there till the army bought our place in 1937. Dad moved us to our last house in 1938. Mother loved flowers but between the Bermuda grass and a shortage of water they didn't always do good.
I remember Milton got run over by a car & all my mother could do was hold him, because we didn't have any one to take us to the doctor. Mother's love was enough to heal his hurts. There is nothing like a Mother's love.
Mother contracted leukemia, she was in & out of the hospital for the rest of her life.
We were blessed to have parents like ours.

As I find out new info, I will update it in a separate post, but I will also update it in the post that the info pertains to...so, I guess, look for updates about updates!
