Last day of the month... No blog today, things are CRAZY at the office. I will say this, last night I went thru and cleaned up the BISHOP line, children and grandchildren, on the Ancestry app, all the way thru Joshua W BISHOP b. 1753. I have devised a new way to keep track of the way that I am going thru it all, duplicates and whatnot. I try not to work on it to much at home at night, because I get totally lost in it and the next thing that I know, it is 11:00 at night!

So, off for now, back to work, files files and more files!!!

Well, I had a brilliant idea on how to post whole family group sheets at once, and it did not work, and as I am out of time to work on this issue, I must deal with the fact that I am not going to be able to post anything substancial today...

I am oeverheated here in my office, so I must take a little walk outside and hope that helps!

Today I have seriously started work on my iBook! I have done a page on my father, mother, and his siblings. I want to add way more personal information, stories, and pictures, etc. Right now, I have to double check a lot of dates, I just kind of went on memory. I also need to redownload a lot of the pics that I sent to Picassa, so that I can add them. I want this to be more a memory book than a history book.

Maybe I will ask family to write memories, that I can add. Tha would be neat. Yeah, I think that I will do that. That can be in the plea letter that I still need to work on...

Maybe I should do that now! I think that I will...

Today, I found my happy journal, well it was last night I think, and Heather found it for me, nonetheless, I have it back. I am going to do all of my notes in it from now on. I already transcribed what I had in other places into it. I am going to date it and keep track of my Ancestry hints and other things as well...

I need to scan in my marriage and divorce papers to post on my profile on Ancestry. I also have my parents wedding announcement... If I can figure out how to scan it without harming it, I will post that too!

I have not been on Ancestry much today. Today is my late day and I have lots to do so that I can leave by 4:00! Let the weekend begin, in 2 hours and 22 minutes!

I MADE A DATE!!!

 Wish me luck!

I might have to se if I can find a spell or prayer for luck finding ancestors!

Hahaha! I just found out that my Gramma Inez McCARTY, was not the first McCARTY to marry a BISHOP!

Back in Ireland, back in the 1700's Peter McCARTY was born, and in 1793 in Maryland, USA, Elizabeth BISHOP was born. I do not have a date as to when they married, but they did have 5 children.

The difference is, in the 1900's the lady was the McCARTY, and the gentleman was the BISHOP, and they have 4 kids, one of which was my Daddy! :)

And, now for today's update...

UPGRADE!!!
On the Ancestry.com website. Makes it easier to see the people with hints. Also shows how many hints, but not how many people with hints. I am not crazy about the upgrade. It seems to be causing lots of duplicates in my tree. I have decided to stop messing with it for today and go back tomorrow and thin out the duplicates. That ought to be fun. This is like the third time that I have done this in a serious way!

That is really the entire update for today!

What a day! I finished my files! WOOHOO!!!

Everyone at home is sick... poor babies... Cara has a killer cold, and My Grrrl has a migraine and tummy troubles... I hope that I can stay well to take care of them! I hope that I do not get sick! Ugh! With my luck, I will be sick while My Grrrl is gone, kinda like I was a two times back. No fun at all, especially since I have things I want to do, clean the closet in the upstairs hall, work on the garage... things of that nature...

I have so much to do today, and the stuff just hit the fan. There is a crisis here at work, not sure how it is going to affect me, but just the same, I think that I will get my desk cleared, and my ToDo list checked off, so I can be here when it happens!

That is all today!

Robert and I walked to the bus this morning, that was nice, except for his headache and whining from it. Next time I will have him bring water, and that should solve that. I let him know that no matter how much he whines, we ARE walking each morning (weather permitting...) I can feel it, and I am tired from it, but not tired in life today... Does that make sense?

I have decided that I will blog at the end of the day. I have rearranged my schedule, and my breaks so that I can take a walk in my morning break, eat lunch and do Ancestry.com at lunch, and stretch in my afternoon break! It is working so far. I went for a walk this morning at 10:00, walked around, found some secret passages, well, new to me, that makes them secret! LOL! At lunch, I got 4 names off of my BISHOP hint list... I added like 12 for those 4, but just the same!

Now, it is my afternoon break, I did some stretches, mostly, I need to pick up my office, it is a disaster zone... I have been doing the files! Robert will be here in half an hour, so I need to get it done before then, the office gets smaller when he gets here...

Anyhow, that is all today, no Family History updates... Oh wait... yes there is.. I am going to do another round of plea letters to family, this time to more, and this time I will include a self addressed stamped envelope so that I will be more likely to get returns! *Fingers Crossed*

Everyone in the house is getting sick... Cough due to cold...

I have 2443 people in my tree, and 1146 with hints! For every two I add, there are five or six new ones! I was on the ALLENs, in the Es, now I am back to the As! I think that I will do what's in front of me on the iPad, and just the BISHOPs when I am on a big computer. Easier navigation...

Off to get ready to face the day now.

Great Find, Maybe...

I talked to someone at Carrie Tingley Hospital today. She said that she would let me in to look at the photos that they have from when it used to be a military rehab hospital. My Grandad Milton worked there. When my sister had her back surgery and recovered there back in the early 90's (I believe) we saw pics of him on the wall. Now, I have to admit, that I might be wrong about that. I might have seen someone that I thought looked like im, but I do believe that the last time that I was at Gramma's she confirmed that he worked there. I need to look on Ancestry.com's military page and see if I can find that out...

No drive today. So tired, still kind of dizzy, but the meds help. I looked at my labs, and they are all in the normal range. That is good I guess...

No new news to share today. I got up SUPER early so that I could come in and make up the hours from yesterday. I wish now that I had not... I will have to do a 10 hour day, and still be able to get off somewhat early tomorrow! Yippie! Plus, no Robert tomorrow night, however, he and his friend will be over Saturday from 1100 till 200 the next day... What was I thinking! LOL

I want to lay in the living room in the dark and listen to the Black Keys... one of these nights, I will... Have to get rid of all of the kids at once, other wise, I will get NO privacy, and what is the point of laying in the dark listening to music if kids keep popping in and out! LOL

Well, that is all for now... Back to scheduling, my least favorite thing to do, seems to be the thing I have the most of to do today! Oh well, tonight is the new Big Bang Theory, and I will be watching it from my nice warm bed! What a great thing to have to look forward to! Lucky me!!!  :)

No blog today, I have been dizzy since yesterday, and it is not getting better. Going to the doctor, had an appointment already, and then back to bed.

Before I go, I want to share that I am sick of political news...you can't believe what "that guy" says, and you can't believe what "the other guys" say about him either...

So, I started this morning with 901 people with hints... I now have 916! This is a never ending battle! I would do a persons hints in-between billing entries, and man, I thought that I was getting somewhere! LOL! Oh well, it is fun. I still want to concentrate on the BISHOP's though, just the BISHOP's for a while, but the same issue, with having to scroll to that page. Not as big of a deal with BISHOP, thy are on the first page still!

I have to start the next generation as far as the slides that I was posting goes, but I have them in my iPad and right now I am watching Avatar on it and I don't want to stop! LOL

So, I guess that is it. Time to grab a bite to eat and get back to the grindstone!

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

No new info today. Last night I spent who knows how long looking at the hints only page. I saw some doubles, got rid of the ones that I saw. I have an issue with that page...It takes you back to the very first page when you are done with one person and go back to the hints. I was working on the PARKERs last night. They are on page 7 of 10. That is a pain in the butt! I was looking for Cynthia Ann Parker, mother of Quanah Parker. No luck. I know we are related to her, based on what my Dad's cousin Donna told me, A LONG TIME AGO! But neither of them is in my tree yet...I keep getting more people with hints for everyone that I take off! I guess that is the nature of the beast! I think that I need to limit my "exposure" to Ancestry.com! Like I said, I spent a long time on it last night, and the night before as well. Friday night, Heather told me that she could be having an affair right in front of me, as long as I had Ancestry, I would not even notice... Highly Doubtful, but just the same, I think that she might be getting jealous?

So, to summup... Lots of hints, LOTS.. more than a few doubles, need to work on those, I think that I will make that my priority for now, and limit home time to 30 minutes a night...I need to do that anyhow, so that I can work on ALL of the other things that I want to do as well. For instance, this morning I had the overwhelming urge to knit while I wait at Pep Boys... I FORGOT my knitting. This is why I pack EVERYTHING in my happy big a** bag!

Well, time to go, I have readding I want to do. I have a goal today, to finish my Tarot book. I am so close, so I better get it done! Then I have one more thing that I can take off the to do list, more like I have more room on my to do list!

No real blog today, it is Saturday, and as always, busy day! I have been up since about 5:00 ( thanks Minni ), and going since about 8:00. Nana's, Cara's therapy, home, a few chores, then to my mother in law's house for her birthday gather! That was fun, but my tummy is upset, and so now, we are home again. I think that room cleaning is in my near future, that might be a good idea! Then, dinner, a light dinner, since we all ate at the gathering, and rest. I know that Cara will be watching the Denver - Patriots play off game. Go Broncos! Go Patriots! Oh man, I cannot choose, as long as the Giants get knocked out this weekend! :)

Well, I better go, people will think that I am hiding, I am not, I am using an unpleasant time to my advantage. Truth be told, I just love the sound this keyboard makes when I type... Tappa Tappa Tappa... I got your Tappa Tappa right here! LOL!

Oooohhh, Friday the 13th...

I think that I finished that generation in my last update... Today is the "summup" day...

I found a page on Ancestry for JUST the people that have hints. I think that I said this yesterday? I have been working on those people, it is awesome. I have been able to get rid of some duplicates and get some stuff done. Today I decided to just do the BISHOPS for now. Sometimes when you deal with one persons hints to get rid of him on that page, it adds 5 or 6 more people!

I am enjoying it! Yeah. I also sent a link to that page to my iPad, because I could not find it on my own. I bookmarked that page and now I can work on it on the weekend.

I better go, supposed to be taking minutes... not worried about it, because there are powerpoints I can just add to the minutes. Not cheating, but really, nothing for me to do today in this meeting...

For My Dad...

Well its been a year and there so much to tell
been doing alright in spite of myself
just wish I could stop feeling bad when I pray
But I know I'm gonna get there someday

Got that job I was dreaming about
sometimes its tough traveling around
but who I wanna be still seems so far away
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

Glad I told you all I meant to
while I had the chance
cause every moment I had with you
made me who I am

By the way, I met someone new
and wouldn't you know, she's a whole lot like you
still I ain't ready to settle down in one place
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

Well I guess I'll be movin on
I'll just leave these daisies by your stone
and daddy, I still miss you every day
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

When that'll be, guess only the Gods can say
but I know I'm gonna get there someday

A nice, coldish Sunday. Laundry this morning... DONE... :)
Reading some of the books that I recently bought. I have SO many that I want to get read!

I think that Cara has finally come to terms with her moving to Marie's room once she is gone, that is good Lots of plans for the coming year. Hope that we can not make ourselves crazy!

Having a little snack of Deviled Ham and Triscuits. Still not sure how I feel about the Deviled Ham...

No Family History blog today. I wrote all of my "issues" in the book that I have designated for this purpose. Ok, not ALL of my issues, but the ones that i had written down to do something about. They are in the book.

That is all now, going to spend the rest of the day relaxing. About to go watch a Weird Al Behind The Music! Go Me!

Today has been a BORING day... I have had some time to update my Ancestry.com and I have found that some of the "hints" are shady and screwy... Once you get back so far and there are men-folk that have the same name for 5 generations, with little to no difference in said names, it makes it hard!

On my Dad's side, I have 4 lines back SEVEN generations!!! EIGHT actually, because 7 was counting me as 1 and I have the my kids in there, so they are 1, so I have EIGHT generations!!! This is just having checked all of the "hints" for those lines. It does seem that every time I go back, there are more "hints"!

Well, I will not be posting a page from my Power Point today. I think that I will do that Monday through Thursday, and Friday I will post a general weekly update and Saturday and Sunday will probably be "no post today, crazy busy"... etc. Tomorrow I know will be crazy... starting with an 0745 blood donation, and along the day, library, Nana visit and who knows what else!!!

Anyhow, I have TONS of pictures, most of which I have imported from other trees. A few months ago, I printed up a "book" from my tree, and that was just from what I knew, what I had entered. It took forever to upload. And it was, if I remember about 30 pages to print... Maybe not that much... I will need to make sure I have the office to myself if I am to do it with the updated info! I have over 1400 people in my tree now!!!

Anyhow, I want to get it all printed before I go to Gramma Bishop's in March, if I get to go... Man, I hope we get to go! It would be great to get to see everyone again! I want to make it a yearly thing, and I want to ask her questions, and sit there with the recorder going... Will have to get rid of some stuff on the iPad, so that I have room for lots of recordings!

Well, I better go, time to do the pre-final Kronos check!
